In our Kanji pages you will find each Kanji has a different stroke order. The stroke order is shown with numbers. The number 1 means it is the first stroke. Where the number is placed is where your pen begins that stroke.
The example below is the Kanji for woman. It has 3 strokes.
The first stroke has a bend in it.
You do not take the pen off of the paper to do this.
The second stroke is a curve.
The last stroke goes straight across.
